» About Strawberrynet
StrawberryNet is an NGO network promoting the protection of the environment, sustainable development, democracy and human rights in Romania, using electronic telecommunication. It is organised as a self-coordination body of NGOs providing or using information and communication services. StrawberryNet’s legal status is that of a foundation. Strawberrynet can offer advanced communication services, including web publishing applications, customised mailing lists, technical assistance for actions and campaigns, web hosting, domains under ngo.ro and others, consulting and training in NGO communication and organizational development, etc.
Strawberrynet is an APC member since 2000. APC (Association for Progressive Communications) is an international network and organisation of committed activists who wants to use the Internet to make the world a better place. APC help people get access to the internet where there is none or it is unaffordable, help grassroots groups use the technology to develop their communities and further their rights, and is working to make sure that government policies related to information and communication serve the best interests of the general population, especially people living in developing countries.
Mihály Bakó, the coordinator of Strawberrynet has served on the APC board of directors for two years.

The GreeningIT directory was officially launched on 11 October 2010, marking the first open online database of resources that focuses on the intersection of ICTs and environmental sustainability.
The directory aims to gather and present a comprehensive annotated list of initiatives, tools and online communities, featuring both innovative and traditional applications of ICTs to address climate change, environmental issues and the environmental impact of ICTs.
